The Border Studio was founded in 1961 by Leslie Garner, who sadly passed away in February 2000 after a lifetime designing and painting for the theatre in London, Brighton, and Scotland (including sets for the Royal Command Performances at the London Palladium during the 1950's).
However, the family tradition lives on through his daughter Kate Reinsch and son-in-law Thomas Reinsch in the design, production and transport of high-quality theatre scenery throughout the United Kingdom.

From small beginnings in 1961, supplying local theatre groups, The Border Studio now supplies more than 600 different theatre companies around the British Isles. Our clients range from school and university groups, scout and guide associations, amateur operatic and dramatic societies, hotel and leisure organisations, to professional theatre companies. Most use our services regularly and have done so for many years. We are proud to say that we have retained and still serve our original group of clients from 1961. No matter how big or small, our clients can be assured of the highest possible level of service at The Border Studio.
